What is Mission and Evangelism?
Too often we think of mission as what a few really committed people do in another country and evangelism as what a few really keen people do in our country. But both mission and evangelism are what God wants for everyone, everywhere. Mission is what God wants us all to do by living and serving as God’s people. Evangelism is what God wants us all to do by telling people about who Jesus is and what He has done for us and for everyone, everywhere.
Mission and Evangelism Where We Are
So at Life Church, mission and evangelism start at home. We have called 2022 a year of opportunity, an opportunity to focus on praying, caring and sharing with people we know in our families, our friends, people we live near to or work with. It is also a team activity. We work together in prayer meetings about our city, in outreach events for children, in our Parents and toddlers group, in running enquirers groups for people to find out more and in activities in our city centre, sometimes with other churches.
Mission and evangelism is not for the few of us but for all of us because of what Jesus has done for us and for everyone, everywhere.
